Anthem Golf & Country Club

By Dale Shepard

Greetings once again to all my fellow tennis lovers! With another year of tennis behind us, I hope all has gone well and that you are playing the best tennis of your life! I also hope that this year has left you in good health and looking forward to a new year.

THIS ARTICLE will mark my first year with Infinity magazine and I can tell you that they have been great to work with and are truly committed to promoting North Valley living. I highly encourage all my readers to patronize as many of the advertisers as possible so we can make this venture a successful one.

In this issue, we are taking a look at the tennis community located within the Anthem Golf & Country Club located at 2708 W. Anthem Club Drive in the North Valley. The golf courses are well documented, however, you might not know about the solid tennis community up in Anthem. First of all they have a total of nine tennis courts within the country club. Three courts are located at the Persimmon Club facility, which includes one stadium court. The other six courts are located at the Ironwood Club facility. The post-tension hard courts are done in the U.S. Open colors of green borders and blue playing surface. This creates a unique and effective appearance to optimize players’ experience on the courts.

The Anthem Country Club carries five tennis professionals on staff and also offers a variety of programs for its residents. Standard programs like drop-in doubles and private and group lessons are available, but they offer newer forms of programs as well. Tennis aerobics is a fun and fastpaced program that gives members a chance to improve their tennis skills while getting in a cardiovascular workout. Other programs like themed tennis mixers and inter-club league play rounds out a well-designed program. A ball machine is also available for members to utilize when schedules get hectic.

After tennis, members can enjoy lunch or dinner at the Persimmon Bar & Grille or the Ironwood Grille. They offer a diverse menu with a gorgeous view of the mountains. A well-equipped fitness club is also available to enhance residents’ North Valley living experience.

The Anthem Country Club is located at the foot of the high Sonoran desert foothills, just north of the Carefree Highway. Anthem is an absolute gorgeous area to live. It is no wonder that this resort-style community was voted the Best Master Planned Community in America in 2001 by the National Association of Home Builders. The Anthem Community has been building and evolving for the past 7 years and is approximately 85% complete. More and more businesses and restaurants are opening within the area, which makes life very convenient for residents. For the longest time Anthem has been known for the outlet mall located on the west side of the I-17 freeway, but there is more to this community than one can see from the freeway.

Being a homeowner in Anthem myself, I truly enjoy living on the outskirts of Phoenix. The air is always a little cleaner and there is always a breeze blowing in off the open range. Anthem is a quiet and clean community and is a great place to unwind after the hustle and bustle of Phoenix. The Anthem Country Club is designed to offer resort-style living for their residents that is really one of a kind. I highly encourage anyone looking to purchase a home to look at what is going on in Anthem.
